How many times have you planned something and got yourself excited but ended up never even trying? I know this is probably something that you have done multiple times in the past. And you are definitely not alone in this. Quite the opposite, just know that you are automatically build to fear any changes. But at the same time, sometimes you just need to just start.
Despite the fear that you might have to start that one project that you love, starting is the only thing to do. Most of the times, you were probably scared of doing it. Maybe you thought it was a waste of money. Or perhaps you even thought that it wasn’t the right decision.
“Everyone has so much potential to live the life they’ve always wanted, but most people just stop trying to get there before they even start.”

But this is what happens. You plan something, and you get all of the steps in your head. You know it is a great idea. But when the fear kicks in, you convince yourself that maybe… you know, it is not THAT good of an idea. This is nothing but your own body and brain trying to protect you from stress and situations that are unknown.
However, most of the times, all that you need to do is just start. Take the planning out of the papers and give that first step. And this is what you are going to read about today.
Here are 3 tips on how you can turn on the “just start” mentality and take all of your projects out of the drawers. Keep reading!
1. Unleash your potential
What do you love to do? You might often see yourself working late hours in an office. Usually, you hear that this is a safe choice. After all, you need to make money. “Safe” payment. You need to get that job that will bring safety and stability to your life. Being so, you end up applying to a bunch of different jobs that are essentially all the same.
You just want the safety of having an “official” job. Then, after a while, you might end up finding out that this isn’t what you want. The long hours sitting down in front of a computer are not what you have hoped to be. You want something else. But what exactly?

You need to find out what makes your heart beat faster initially. That one thing that you can see yourself doing for the rest of your life. You might even come up with a few different answers. But you will eventually find that one thing that might offer you a reasonable payment, as well as a proper lifestyle.
Once you have found this one thing that you love to do. That one thing that can change the world and also your life, it is time to plan. This is will actually be the first step to start something. Planning is where everything begins.

2. Make all of the planning
Planning is the first step to starting something. When you are planning, you already took a few steps. Being so, they are the essential beginning of your journey. Therefore, a step that you can never skip.
Even if you don’t know exactly what to do just yet, just start. Write what type of niche you think would be the best. Describe what you would like to build over the years. Try to decide how much money you “think” that you might need. You might also try to draw a line, from where you are, to where you want to be.
This is simpler than you think. If you are a college student, let’s say. You know that you first need to finish college. You might also need to have a side hustle to save money. If you are planning to save money, you will also need to cut some expenses. You know, try to work out at home instead of that extra expensive gym.
These are temporary changes that can help you reach a goal. But when you put these down on a paper, it makes you more organized. You know now what are the steps that you need to take to at least something. Then all that you have left you actually to start.

3. Start small

Starting something is always tricky. But it is worth it. One thing that you can keep at the top of your mind is to start small. We actually have a fantastic article about the importance of starting small. You can read this article by clicking here.
But basically, giving that first small step is much safer than going all out. Many different factors are in place when you consider starting something. Your inexperience plays a big part. Maybe a lack of money, and so on. Because of these reasons, starting small can actually save you a lot of headaches, money and time. Things don’t need to be perfect; you don’t need to have everything ready.
Your initial steps WILL be imperfect and a bit unstable in the beginning. And if you wait around for the “perfect” situation, these projects might just end up being this… plans, forever. Start your unperfect, smaller, unstable version and improve as you grow. You will never know everything. You will never be bulletproof. All that you need to do is just start.

You might be afraid of starting something. But you must know that at the end of the day, the perfect situation might never come. You just need to start somewhere. You will eventually improve, grow, and become stronger with time. This is the only way for you to get experience and learn. Book and research can only prepare you so much. But the real school is real life, is trying.
Even if you fail, this will be an excellent opportunity to learn from the feedback. And at the end of the day, you will at least be on your way instead of just waiting.
